Q. Why do men wax? Depositphotos_8538697_xs

A. Women have understood the benefits of waxing for many years and men are catching up fast when it comes to making the most of your appearance.  For many reasons, such as improved appearance, better sports performance, clean and fresher feel, more aesthetically pleasing, improved sensitivity, more hygienic.

Q. Does it hurt?

A. Whatever your expectations are of waxing, the truth is that most guys are surprised to find the feeling of discomfort is much less than they thought.  Some have compared it to having a plaster removed quickly.  The important thing to remember is that you are with a trained professional who will use plenty of techniques to remove the hair quickly and keep the discomfort to a minimum using the right before and aftercare products.

Q. How do I prepare?

A. Please take a shower before any waxing treatment and try to exfoliate the skin, either with an exfoliating glove/mitt or exfoliating shower gel.  This helps prepare the skin by removing the dead skin cells, allowing the hair to more easily removed.  Also, do not shave for at least 2 to 3 weeks before being waxed.  This will allow the hair to be removed successfully as it needs to be at least a quarter of an inch (half a centimetre) in length

Q. I’m nervous about intimate waxing?

It’s understandable if it’s your first time but you will be treated with sensitivity and understanding.  Once the waxing has started you will soon forget about any embarrassing situations.  The important thing to remember is that there is no right or wrong reaction when having intimate waxing so you won’t be judged but treated with respect.

Q. What aftercare do you advise?

A. You may feel slight soreness and redness after being waxed which which will subside over the next 24 to 48 hours and is perfectly normal, especially if it’s your first time.  For the next couple of days, avoid any heat treatments such as saunas, steam rooms, hot baths etc, a lukewarm bath or shower is fine. Also, avoid swimming and vigourous exercise for the next day or so.  Keep the area as clean as possible and after a few days you can exfoliate the area several times a week with a bodyscrub to prevent ingrown hairs.
